Shooting Sports Project and Contest

Project Information

Participating in 4-H Shooting Sports requires completing at least one project at the county level. Completing a project includes entering in the Douglas County Fair

Detailed project information can be found on the Colorado 4-H Natural Resource Project website.

  • Review the Project Overview and Tips. Here you will find the Exhibit Types (i.e., Display Board Exhibit, Stand-Alone Exhibit, and Decorative Exhibit Items)
  • The record book (or e-Record) can be downloaded from here, too. It is required to complete the record book for the project. It can be printed and completed by hand or updated electronically.

The Douglas County Fair exhibit rules are available on the Douglas County Fair website in the Junior Division Competition Rules document (search for Shooting Sports Division).

  • The basics of the Douglas County Fair rules is that they use the Colorado State Fair rules.
  • The Colorado State Fair exhibit rules are available on the Colorado 4-H website in the 4-H Exhibits Requirements document.

Some projects will qualify to be entered into the Colorado State Fair. While this is not required, it is encouraged to participate if project qualifies.
